OUT OF MATTER - From Fibre to Form
During Zurich Design Weeks, FERUS, Basalto Collective and MAANA STUDIOS came together for OUT OF MATTER — an activation exploring how raw materials can become objects, spaces and shared experiences.
Agave fibre, sisal and volcanic stone each carried their own story of origin, transformation and craft.
At the heart of the installation was a dialogue between Swiss and Mexican material cultures, brought to life through woven textiles, furniture, stone objects and hospitality.
We were proud to showcase our SISAL rugs — celebrating the natural texture, strength and character of the fibre, and its ability to transform from raw material into a tactile surface for interiors.
Sisal is sustainable, biodegradable, and free from harmful substances. Our rugs are made from high-quality henequen fibre, a sustainable natural fibre from the agave family.
